Science and Technology

Our science and technology facilities are designed to support enquiry, innovation and practical learning across all stages. Students benefit from state-of-the-art science laboratories, an unrivalled design technology department equipped with specialist machinery, including a 3D printer and laser cutter, and a fully equipped food technology department featuring advanced equipment and top-of-the-range appliances. Dedicated electronics facilities further enhance opportunities for experimentation, problem-solving and applied learning.

Sports

Our extensive sports facilities support a wide range of athletic pursuits and physical development. These include multi-sport astroturf pitches, dedicated courts for netball, basketball and volleyball, and full-size grass rugby and football pitches. Students also benefit from access to a prestigious Cricket Academy, short athletics track with adjacent grass areas for field events, and multiple outdoor tennis courts.

Indoor facilities are equally impressive, with two fully equipped gymnasiums, two large fitness studios, and a state-of-the-art sports hall featuring a full-size basketball arena with spectator seating. Aquatic provision includes three swimming pools designed to support all levels, from beginners through to competitive swimmers.

Performing arts

Our performing arts and media facilities provide professional environments for creativity, expression and technical development. These include two dedicated black box theatres, specialist music recording studios, and advanced media and production technologies. Students also have access to a versatile auditorium, designed to accommodate both indoor and outdoor performances, offering flexible seating for a wide range of productions and events.

Art

Our art facilities provide inspiring spaces for creativity, exploration and expression. Students have access to five dedicated studio areas, a specialist sculpture and ceramics workshop, and a range of outdoor working spaces, including a sculpture garden. Facilities for printmaking, textiles and photography further support a broad and immersive visual arts experience.

Digital Enablement

Our IT facilities support digital learning across every stage of the school. The campus is fully wireless and equipped with dedicated Mac suites, music technology and recording studios, and interactive whiteboards throughout. All classrooms feature Apple TVs, while students are supported with age-appropriate laptops and iPads from Early Years through to Secondary, ensuring technology is seamlessly integrated into teaching and learning.

Other Learning Facilities

Our wider learning facilities are designed to support exploration, collaboration and inclusion. Students have access to two well-resourced libraries, including e-library provision, alongside thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor play areas for Foundation Stage and Primary pupils. Kings’ School Al Barsha was the fastest among new schools in Dubai to reach KHDA’ ‘outstanding’ status. It was inspected for the first time in 2017 and assigned an overall rating of ‘good’ with many outstanding aspects. It went on to achieve ‘outstanding’ status in 2018 and has consistently held the KHDA ‘outstanding’ rating for the last eight years. The full inspection reports are listed below.

Kings’ School Al Barsha also had a successful British Schools Overseas (BSO) Inspection in February 2026 and a successful British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) Inspection at the end of the academic year 2015/16.

We are accredited to and members of several organisations, including British Schools in the Middle East. Our school has also been granted recognition as a centre to conduct examinations by Edexcel, one of the UK’s examination boards for GCSE as well as AQA and Cambridge boards.
