Kings’ School Al Barsha welcomes applications throughout the year. However, there is limited availability so we advise you to apply as early as you can. Our school is generally in high demand. Waiting lists for certain age groups may be closed for admissions during an academic year. We cannot guarantee spaces but offer from our waiting list as and when spaces become available.

If the year group you want to apply for is not available, you may choose to apply for the following year. We also recommend visiting our group schools Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba and Kings’ School Dubai.
How to Apply
Step 1 – Applying online
Before applying we advise you to:
- Check which year group is best suited for your child, based on their date of birth.
- Familiarise yourself with the relevant school fees.
Step 2 – Finalising the application
- Following your enquiry, we will send you login details for our parent registration portal.
- All the required documents can be uploaded online via the parent portal.
- You will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of AED500 + VAT, which must be paid online.
Step 3 – Securing a Place
- Once you have added all the required details for your family and child(ren), uploaded all the required documents and paid the registration fee, you may be given an option to book an assessment depending on availability.
- You will be notified of the outcome of the assessment shortly afterwards. Successful applicants will receive a formal offer letter valid for ten days from receipt. If no places are available at the time, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified once a place becomes available.
- To secure the offer of a place, you will be asked to pay a deposit which will be deducted from the fees for your child’s first term. Payments can be made directly via online the registration portal.

Before a place can be offered the applicant will be asked to visit the school to be assessed. These assessments vary according to the age of the child.
Successful applicants will be notified by phone that a place has been offered and this will be followed up via a letter. The offer is valid for 10 days from receipt. In all cases the parent or guardian will be notified of the outcome of the assessment by telephone.
- Each applicant must have the necessary academic qualifications, fulfil the Schools’ admissions criteria and pass the Schools’ assessment process
- FS1 and FS2: play based observational assessments (we look at communication, interaction and the ability to follow instructions)
- Years 1-2, one to one teacher led assessments are conducted
- Years 3-10: computer based Cognitive Ability Test (CAT) and a written task. Each online test is appropriate to the age of the child and will take approximately two hours.
Years 10-13 considered in line with the constraints of the GCSE and A level courses and examinations schedules.

Age Cut Off
Our age cut-off table is based on KHDA-approved cut-off dates and is the age/year group at which, we strongly recommend your child/ren be placed. Age-appropriate assessments are carried out to assess suitability for a challenging curriculum and ability to integrate with existing cohorts.

*For Year 3 and above the required year group will be based on your child’s transfer/leaving certificate from their previous school, if coming from abroad.
Fee Structure 2025-2026
The following fee structure has been agreed by the KHDA:

Registration, deposit, and re-enrolment fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, tuition fee refunds follow the Ministry of Education Bylaws for Private Education. (KHDA Fee Framework)
- If a student withdraws prior to the start of the academic year, the balance of the first term’s fees paid will be refunded, except for the registration and deposit fees.
- If a student withdraws during the school year, the registration fees and deposit fee are non-refundable and the remaining tuition is refunded in accordance with the Ministry of Education Bylaws for refund payments.
- If a student attends school for two weeks or less, one full month’s fee will be charged.
- If a student attends school for more than two weeks, but less than one month, two full month’s fees will be charged; and
- If a student attends school for more than one month, the entire term fees will be charged.

Sixth Form Scholarships
We are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships each year to Sixth Form students of exceptional merit and potential.
The coveted scholarships programme is open to both external applicants and existing Kings’ School Al Barsha students who can demonstrate excellence in academia. Those who are accepted on the programme will benefit from exemplary support and guidance designed to nurture their talent and help them excel in their education.
To receive an Academic Scholarship, the student must meet the following criteria: Achieve a minimum of eight GCSEs at Grade 8 and above in their final examinations, with at least three at Grade 9.
