Launched in academic year 2025-26, Sixth Form at Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba marks an exciting new chapter for our school community.
Our aim is to equip students with the academic, practical and personal skills they need to succeed beyond Kings’. We recognise that there is no single definition of Sixth Form success. Some students thrive through traditional academic study, while others are better suited to applied, coursework-led and career-connected pathways.
Every student is supported to choose a programme that reflects their strengths, interests and future goals. The Sheikh Sultan Award offers students a meaningful opportunity to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.
At a time when university and workplace entry is increasingly competitive, students need more than qualifications alone. The Award supports the development of resilience, independence, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving through a challenging and memorable experience.
Participation helps students discover new strengths, build confidence and demonstrate personal commitment — qualities valued by universities and employers.
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
The Extended Project Qualification is a highly regarded element of our extended curriculum and is valued by universities for the academic skills it develops. It is recognised by UCAS as an AS Level qualification and is widely regarded by Russell Group universities as strong preparation for undergraduate study.
Students undertake an independent project in an area of genuine interest, developing research, critical thinking, academic writing and project management skills.
The EPQ reflects the expectations of higher education and provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate initiative, intellectual curiosity and depth of thought. Students are given the time, structure and academic guidance to explore an area of genuine interest in depth. It involves working independently to produce either a Dissertation, investigation or report, Artefact or design, Performance, either solo or in a group or Charity event (group).

Students receive guidance to help them understand future study options, university equivalency requirements and potential career pathways.
This includes support with course selection, applications, interviews, work experience and future planning. Students are encouraged to explore their strengths and ambitions, while developing the independence and confidence to make informed decisions about their next steps.
