Academic Pathways
We offer a wide range of A-Levels and BTEC subjects designed to support ambitious university and career pathways.
Teaching is subject-specialist and academically rigorous, enabling students to deepen their knowledge, strengthen independent study skills and develop intellectual confidence. The Sixth Form Centre
Our Sixth Form Centre is a dedicated environment designed to reflect the independence and responsibility of Sixth Form life.
Students benefit from spacious study areas, group workspaces and a lecture theatre, creating a professional atmosphere where they can focus, collaborate and prepare for higher education.
The Head of Sixth Form and Heads of Year are based nearby, ensuring students have easy access to guidance, support and mentoring throughout their Sixth Form journey.
Kings' Diploma
The Kings’ Diploma offers students a broader Sixth Form experience that combines academic study with enrichment, leadership and real-world learning.
Through opportunities such as the EPQ, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, work experience, community involvement and wider co-curricular activities, students develop independence, confidence and strong personal skills.
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
The Extended Project Qualification is a highly regarded element of our extended curriculum and is valued by universities for the academic skills it develops. It is recognised by UCAS as an AS Level qualification and is widely regarded by Russell Group universities as strong preparation for undergraduate study.
Students undertake an independent project in an area of genuine interest, developing research, critical thinking, academic writing and project management skills.
The EPQ reflects the expectations of higher education and provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate initiative, intellectual curiosity and depth of thought. Students are given the time, structure and academic guidance to explore an area of genuine interest in depth. It involves working independently to produce either a Dissertation, investigation or report, Artefact or design, Performance, either solo or in a group or Charity event (group).
Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award complements academic study and is valued by universities and employers. Through volunteering, skill development, physical activity and expedition experiences, students develop resilience, teamwork, leadership and independence.
In an increasingly competitive admissions landscape, the Award enables students to demonstrate qualities beyond examination results, including resilience, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and commitment.
Through a combination of volunteering, skill development, physical activity and a challenging expedition, students set personal goals and develop confidence, independence and adaptability. The Gold Award requires sustained effort and determination, reflecting a high level of personal commitment.
Completion of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award strengthens university applications, enhances personal statements and provides students with experiences and skills that support success in higher education and the workplace.
Careers & University Guidance
Careers’ education and guidance are provided for all our students as they navigate their way through the vast array of opportunities available to them when they graduate from Kings’.
Support includes subject and course selection, personal statements, admissions assessments, interviews and applications to universities in the UK, UAE and internationally.
Students also benefit from access to careers resources, university platforms and connections with external specialists, helping them make informed decisions about their futures.
