Holly graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BSc Biology in 2009, followed by a PGCE with Masters in Education in 2012. She began her teaching career in a large Outstanding secondary school in Derbyshire, and was quickly promoted to lead Teaching and Learning across the school, in addition to the training of student and newly qualified teachers. Holly moved to Dubai to join the Kings’ family in 2016 and has enjoyed numerous leadership roles including Second in Science, Head of Year 11-13 and Assistant Headteacher (Key Stage 4) before becoming Deputy Headteacher (Pastoral) and Designated Safeguarding Lead in 2024. Holly is an innovative and dynamic leader whose strengths lie in supporting students to make key decisions regarding their futures, whilst ensuring that opportunities are provided for all children to thrive and succeed both academically and pastorally. Holly is passionate that all students in her care develop into resilient, confident and effective lifelong learners, and leads wellbeing initiatives across the school to ensure a culture of kindness with our KSAB community.

Katie is one of our Assistant Headteachers for Teaching and Learning at Kings’ School Al Barsha, bringing 14 years of teaching and leadership experience. A Geography graduate from Royal Holloway, University of London, she spent 11 years teaching in South London before joining Kings’ School Al Barsha, where she most recently served as Head of Year 11 and Assistant Headteacher – Head of Middle School. Katie is passionate about high-quality teaching, curriculum design, and raising the profile of the creative and performing arts, ensuring every student has the opportunity to shine and succeed.

Hollie is now in her eighth year at Kings’ and is in her third year as Assistant Headteacher and Leader of Learning, after many years of successfully leading English as Head of Department. She teaches English Literature at A Level and enjoys nothing more than analysing plays and poetry with her students. Since Hollie studied English Language and Literature at Newcastle University, she has loved every minute of teaching. She is extremely passionate about making learning exciting and designs creative, engaging lessons to ignite pupils’ love for the subject. She is also a strong advocate for oracy and public speaking, believing that every student’s voice has power and should be heard. Hollie encourages students to be articulate, confident communicators, as well as critical thinkers who can challenge ideas and engage thoughtfully with the world around them. She is committed to preparing students for life beyond school and is looking forward to continuing to drive innovation across the school.

Ms Rahim is an Assistant Headteacher with over 15 years of teaching and leadership experience. Originally from Northwest London, she has spent the past decade in the UAE, working across a range of middle and senior leadership roles, including Head of Science and Head of Maths. She is passionate about driving academic excellence through high-quality teaching, meaningful assessment, and a strong focus on student progress. Ms Rahim believes that learning should be both challenging and inspiring, with a particular emphasis on developing critical thinking and a lifelong curiosity for science. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that every child can succeed when supported with the right balance of high expectations, strong relationships, and personalised learning.

Jonathan brings extensive experience as a senior school leader, having successfully led multiple Mathematics departments and overseen whole-school timetabling in a range of settings. As Assistant Headteacher, he plays a key role in the strategic planning and delivery of the secondary timetable, while also leading on the complex organisation of examinations and wider operational logistics at senior leadership level. He maintains a strong interest in the effective use of data to inform decision-making and school improvement. Alongside his leadership responsibilities, Jonathan continues to teach Mathematics and Further Mathematics, with a particular focus on supporting students through the demands of A Level study and fostering a deep appreciation for challenging mathematical thinking.

Iain is an inspirational and highly regarded leader and has been one of Kings’ long-standing staff members since 2013. He gained his teaching degree from Exeter University in the UK and holds every student at the centre of his educational approaches. He started at Kings’ Dubai and then moved to set up the outstanding PE Department that we have today at Kings’ School Al Barsha. He is an experienced KS3/4 and Sixth Form Year Leader and guided the first KS5 cohort through their A-Levels towards their aspirational goals of higher education. Iain is now concentrating on his new role as Assistant Headteacher – Lower School in the secondary senior management team to empower and guide all students’ at Kings’ to be the best that they can be. His enthusiasm for PE continues as he delivers PE to Kings’ students.

Sanval is Assistant Headteacher and Head of Middle School. He has also served as an Assistant Headteacher in two secondary schools in the United Kingdom and awarded Fellowship Status (FCCT) by the Chartered College of Teaching for his significant and sustained contribution to Education. Sanval holds an MSc in Education and PGCE from Loughborough University as well as a First Class (BA) Honours from Nottingham Trent University. Improving life chances and creating memorable experiences for all students underpins Sanval’s educational philosophy.

With 22 years of international experience at senior level in the field of Inclusion, Bronwyne’s professional career, spanning four countries and many diverse cultures, has focused on empowering children with learning differences. Bronwyne joined KSAB in 2015 as Lead Dyslexia Intervention Specialist, and now Assistant Headteacher – Secondary Head of Inclusion. She completed her Masters in Education SEND from Middlesex University and is registered with the British Psychological Society and the Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ). She has been invited on numerous occasions as a guest speaker on inclusion across the Middle East and is passionate about inclusion and ensuring all students have equal opportunities to succeed.

Rebecca began her teaching career in Surrey after graduating with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education. After gaining experience teaching across Key Stage 2, she progressed into leadership, where she further developed her skills in leading teams and supporting pupil outcomes. Rebecca joined Kings’ School Al Barsha in 2017, initially teaching in Year 6 before being promoted to Year Leader. In this role, she led her team through the important transition to secondary school, ensuring pupils were both academically prepared and confident in their next steps. She then moved into the role of Assistant Headteacher, where she further developed her leadership across the primary phase and contributed to whole-school improvement priorities. Rebecca has now been Deputy Headteacher for three years. In this role, she has a particular focus on assessment and safeguarding. She leads whole-school assessment systems, ensuring that data is used meaningfully to support teaching, learning and pupil progress. As a Designated Safeguarding Lead, Rebecca works closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure the highest standards of care and protection for all pupils. Rebecca is committed to ensuring high standards across the school, with a strong focus on consistency, pupil wellbeing and continuous improvement. She works closely with staff and families to create a safe, supportive environment where all children are able to thrive.

Laura Vance qualified in 2004 from Liverpool Hope University with a degree in Primary Education, specialising in the Early Years. She began her teaching career in the UK, where she spent six years developing her practice as well as gaining further international experience in America and Nigeria. In 2010, she moved to the UAE, initially working in Dubai before relocating to Abu Dhabi and later returning to Dubai, established her career further. Prior to training as a teacher, Laura qualified as a Nursery Nurse but quickly realised that her passion lay in teaching. Throughout her time in the UAE, Laura has held a range of leadership roles, including Head of Primary Science/STEAM, FS2 Year Leader, Year 1 Year Leader, FS1 Year Leader and FS Lead Practitioner. These roles have enabled her to develop strong expertise in Early Years education, Curriculum development and team leadership. Laura is deeply committed to ensuring that children’s first years at school are both meaningful and memorable. She believes these early experiences are fundamental in shaping a child’s future and is passionate about providing a wide range of rich, purposeful learning opportunities. Her approach supports children in developing confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning, ensuring they are well prepared for the next stages of their education and the wider world.

Hannah graduated from the University of Brighton with a degree in Primary Education, specialising in English, and began her teaching career in West Sussex. She joined the Kings’ family in 2013 and was part of the founding team at Kings’ Nad Al Sheba, where she gained a wealth of experience leading teams across Key Stage Two. In 2015, Hannah moved to Kings’ School Dubai, where she enjoyed developing her experience as Year Leader in both Year 2 and Year 6, and leading on the introduction of Seesaw across the primary school. Hannah’s teaching ethos is based around guiding children to become independent, resilient and creative learners who are happy to take risks and confident to take on a challenge.

Katie graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2012 with a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology and began her teaching career in the UK after obtaining her PGCE from the University of Suffolk in 2016. Motivated to broaden her impact as an educator, Katie moved to the UAE and joined Kings’ School Al Barsha in 2018, where she taught alongside the Year 5 team before moving to Year 4 as Year Leader. In 2024, Katie’s role as Lead Practitioner enabled her to share best practices across the school through team teaching, collaborative planning, data analysis, and the design and delivery of whole-school professional development. She remained up to date with current educational research, ensuring that teaching approaches were informed and impactful. Her outstanding classroom practice positively impacted pupils across Key Stage 2, supporting high levels of engagement, progress and achievement. Through this role, Katie inspired teachers to perform at their best while fostering a culture of reflection and continuous professional growth. Stepping into the role of Assistant Headteacher marks an exciting moment in Katie’s journey at Kings’ School Al Barsha. She values the opportunity to contribute to the Kings’ community to ensure the very best outcomes for all pupils. Her ethos centres on celebrating and nurturing the whole child, developing resilient, confident and open-minded lifelong learners.

Francesca graduated from the University of Sunderland in 2013 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Primary Education and began her teaching career in the UK before moving to Dubai in 2015. She joined Kings’ School Al Barsha in 2018, where she taught and led within the Year 6 team. During this time, Francesca also led Student Leadership, developing pupil voice opportunities across the school and empowering children to take on meaningful roles of responsibility. In 2023, Francesca became a Lead Practitioner, leading Teaching and Learning across the Primary School and driving high standards in Mathematics. In 2024, she was appointed Assistant Headteacher for Years 5 and 6, with additional responsibility for Mathematics and MSCS. Moving into her third year of senior leadership, Francesca plays a key role in shaping the strategic direction of Phase 4, ensuring consistency and excellence in teaching, learning and curriculum delivery. She works closely with Year Leaders and teachers to monitor standards, analyse pupil progress and implement targeted support, ensuring all pupils are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential. Francesca is also committed to developing staff through coaching, collaboration and high-quality professional development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Francesca is passionate about guiding children to become resilient, independent, and creative learners who are confident to take risks and are well prepared for the transition to secondary school.

Narinder is a dedicated and passionate educational leader with over 20 years of teaching experience, including 13 years in Early Years and more than 5 years as a Teaching Assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Education (majoring in English) from the University of Northampton, a PGCE in Primary Education, and the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination. Narinder has led key areas including Safeguarding (as Designated Safeguarding Lead), Looked After Children, PSHE, RE, Mental Well-being, and Educational Visits, consistently promoting kindness, respect, and emotional well-being across the school community. She has also successfully led the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring high-quality provision that supports early development through a balance of structured learning and play-based approaches. Her leadership in EYFS has strengthened early identification of needs, enhanced inclusive practice, and built strong partnerships with families to support children’s development from the very start of their educational journey. After moving to Dubai in 2023, Narinder joined Kings’ School Al Barsha as an Inclusion Teacher in Years 1 and 2 and became an Assistant Headteacher and SENCo in 2024. As an Assistant Head Teacher and SENCo, Narinder is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued. She works collaboratively with school leaders to ensure all pupils are both challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.
